Ziaur Rahman

Ziaur Rahman (in short Zia) is a textile and apparel industry leader with 28 years of experience spanning garment manufacturing, global supply chain management, and sustainability leadership in Bangladesh. He holds an Executive MBA and is fluent in Bangla and English.

Zia began his career in garment manufacturing/Factory before joining H&M in 2002, where he spent 22 years in progressively senior roles across merchandising, product management, supply chain — including an international assignment as Supply Chain Manager in Indonesia — and country leadership. From 2019 until October 2026, he served as Regional Country Head for H&M's production operations in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Africa, leading a large cross-functional team and engaging at the highest levels of industry, government, and multi-stakeholder platforms. He served on the Board of the RMG Sustainability Council (RSC) and the Employment Injury Scheme (EIS), as Vice Chairman of EuroCham Bangladesh, and as Executive Committee Member of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) in Bangladesh.

From November 2026, Zia operates as an independent consultant, focusing on Climate, Decarbonization, Circular Economy & Trade Facilitation in the textile sector. His combination of factory-floor grounding, brand-level strategic experience, deep industry networks, and hands-on circularity work makes him uniquely placed to support reverse textile value chain assessments and circular economy program design in Bangladesh.
